Central Federation of Finnish Real Estate Agencies

Central Federation of Finnish Real Estate Agencies promotes the interests of the entire industry. The Union has seven member groups: Aktia Kiinteistönvälitys, Realia Group, RE/MAX Finland, Kiinteistömaailma, OP-Koti, SP-Koti and Suomen Kiinteistönvälittäjät ry (SKVL).

Central Federation of Finnish Real Estate Agencies is an active participant in social discussions and interacts with the supervising authority (Regional State Administrative Agencies) and the legislator (parliament, Ministry for Economic Affairs and Employment). The goal of the association is to boost the residential property market and promote security within the industry. The association also aims to improve the professional skills of agents and the industry’s commitment to The Code of conduct in Real Estate.

International collaboration

The Union has close connections to the National Realtors’ Association, NAR, in the US. NAR’s annual convention brings together some 20,000 agents to learn the latest living trends and technological advances. The association also liaises with the corresponding Estonian association, Eesti kinnisvarafirmade Liit, EKFL.

Central Federation of Finnish Real Estate Agencies acts as a monitor for European trade unions. The Union is the chair of Nordiska Egendomsmäklare Unionen NEU for 2019–2020. In addition to market and regulation comparison, this Nordic collaboration involves the development of training. A Nordic convention is also planned.

Good brokerage practice

The Code of conduct in Real Estate promotes the professional image of the real estate brokerage industry. It determines industry guidelines and protects both the buyer and the seller. A responsible agent knows the The Code of conduct in Real Estate and is committed to it. Dealing with an agent who is committed to the The Code of conduct in Real Estate evokes feelings of security and trust in the consumer. The Code of conduct in Real Estate was drafted by the Finnish Association of Real Estate Agencies. Aktia Kiinteistönvälitys, Huoneistokeskus, Huoneistomarkkinointi HUOM!, Kiinteistömaailma, OP, RE/MAX, SKV Kiinteistönvälitys, Sp-Koti Oy and the member companies of Suomen Kiinteistönvälittäjät ry are all committed to it.

Ethical guidelines

The ethical guidelines for real estate agents comprise the ethical principles for real estate brokerage professionals. The purpose of the guidelines is to form the ethical basis of operation for the Central Federation of Finnish Real Estate Agencies member groups and the companies within them and to support the development of the industry’s appreciation. Together with the Code of conduct in Real Estate, they form a framework for ethical real estate brokerage that is based on good practice. You can download the ethical guidelines for real estate agents here.
