Union of Real Estate Agencies in Finland promotes the interests of the entire industry. The Union has seven member groups: Aktia Kiinteistönvälitys, Realia Group, RE/MAX Finland, Kiinteistömaailma, OP-Kiinteistökeskus, SP-Koti and Suomen Kiinteistövälittäjät ry (SKVL).
Union of Real Estate Agencies in Finland is an active participant in social discussions and interacts with the supervising authority (Regional State Administrative Agencies) and the legislator (parliament, Ministry for Economic Affairs and Employment). The goal of the association is to boost the residential property market and promote security within the industry. The association also aims to improve the professional skills of agents and the industry’s commitment to The Code of conduct in Real Estate.
Union of Real Estate Agencies in Finland acts as a monitor for European trade unions. The Union is the chair of Nordiska Egendomsmäklare Unionen NEU for 2019–2020. In addition to market and regulation comparison, this Nordic collaboration involves the development of training. A Nordic convention is also planned.
The Union has close connections to the National Realtors’ Association, NAR, in the US. NAR’s annual convention brings together some 20,000 agents to learn the latest living trends and technological advances. The association also liaises with the corresponding Estonian association, Eesti kinnisvarafirmade Liit, EKFL.

The ethical guidelines for real estate agents comprise the ethical principles for real estate brokerage professionals. The purpose of the guidelines is to form the ethical basis of operation for the Union of Real Estate Agencies in Finland member groups and the companies within them and to support the development of the industry’s appreciation. Together with the Code of conduct in Real Estate, they form a framework for ethical real estate brokerage that is based on good practice. Any disputes should primarily be resolved through negotiations with the real estate agency. In such cases, please contact either your own agent or a manager at the agency.
The consumer advice service offers anyone free guidance and negotiation assistance for resolving disputes in apartment or property transactions, leasing and real estate or rental brokerage.
Agencies are supervised by the Regional State Administrative Agencies (AVI). AVI handles complaints regarding agencies and makes supervision visits to agencies, among other things. You can report suspected malpractice by an agency to AVI. The form can be found at:
